I had read about this game in Official Nintendo Magazine (the Nintendo magazine I read for Nintendo info and reviews etc) about a year ago. It had been given quite a good score. But as I wasn't a big fan of puzzle games (and the fact I'm usually skint,) I thought nothing of it, looking at previews and stuff like that. Over the years, my tastes changed. I started getting into different games. I saw Soul Bubbles (which I had now gained an interest in because I had thought about it recently before actually seeing it there,) in my local (independent) game shop. It was £10 (a very good price considering it's second-hand, and apparently a very good game.) I went home a few times to think about it (knowing all-well that the game could be gone when I got back.) But when I decided to get it, it was there, and I bought it. I actually don't know what I didn't get it sooner. It looks simple. But the puzzles are pretty neat, the plot is very nice, it's very original in what you do, and the controls are very easy to get a grasp of when you first play. You play an apprentice to a master Spirit Herder. You are taught the art of herding spirits to their first gate to a gateway cube at the end of each level (the cube leads to the afterlife so the spirits don't end up in LImbo (I don't want any religious debate, the game says this.) You draw a protective bubble around them to protect them and blow the bubble around to the cube. You have to solve little puzzles that pop up to progress. You also need to find the Calabash (a type of fruit,) to gain access to the very final area. I find it a very interesting plotline. I really like this game. I don't know about anyone else who's played it, but I can't get annoyed at it. I'll keep carrying on. If I can't solve a puzzle at that particular time, I won't get mad. I'll take a break, or if it's time for bed, I'll treat the puzzle like a mattress and sleep on it. Yesterday, there was a puzzle I just couldn't figure out. I slept on it. Today, I managed to solve it to progress further. I like the fact that it looks simple, and plays simple, but it can be challenging at times. I beat the game today though (unfortunately, you can complete it in a maximum of a couple of hours if you're really focusing on it, I just spread it out over a few days,) and I had bought on Tuesday. But I still need to do a few more things on it. So what about you? Have you ever played this game? What are your thoughts on it? |

Yes, Xan. I am from Britain. I know it's a bit weird when I use British symbols and words when on a mostly American forum. I found out that Enchanted Folk is called 'Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times' in America. I gave you the British name, that's why you probably couldn't find it. Sorry. ^^; I'm not sure if Soul Bubbles has a different name in America or not. |

It doesn't matter if it has a different name in America, I can just get the UK version. It'll work with my flash cart. You should write an official review of this game on the review board if you really like it. Just saying. =P |
