http://www.nintendodsi.com/iwataasks/vol1_page1.html Not a whole boatload of new information, but it's an interesting read. Some of the reasoning behind the new features is quite subtle and actually makes a lot of sense. |

Not to be a pessimist, but although it looks really cool, I bet it'll be a big disappointment when played. |

...well that will only be true if you find the DS a dissapointment when played, because its not that different from it, just with some small upgrades to hardware, and big firmware upgrades... |

Hardware is rarely disappointing; it's not like the software, which could be extremely hyped for stuff it ultimately doesn't have. Everything about the hardware has to be reported, so there's on real way to be disappointed unless you just go into buying it without doing any research or something. If that makes any sense. |

no it makes sense, and you make a good point, with hardware you get to know all of the ins and outs of it whether it is good or not, so you can make your judgement from the specs. whereas some games are hyped up SO much that you can't tell the crap from the cream (some say the cream rises to the top, and other people say that shit floats, they're both true). so even if a game is really hyped up its a good idea to look before you leap, which is basically fed to you with hardware because its easier to compare one on one with another product, as well as it is much more expensive, so its kind of nice to see what you get for your dollar (or in this case $180) |
