Is it possible to get a shiny Pokemon out of an egg? I'm currently trying to breed my two Alakazams, one of which is shiny. So far no luck.

I'll fuck your ass and make you humble

Well then...taken from Bulbapedia, this is all I could find...

"Due to the probability of the IVs lining up in any of these manners to produce a shiny Pokémon, the chance of obtaining one in Generation II is approximately 1/8192. However, if one breeds a shiny Pokémon properly, the offspring may have as high as a 1/64 chance of being shiny, depending on the species of Pokémon."

...implying that, at least in Gen. II, breeding shinies is possible. And I don't see why they'd take that kind of thing out.

Good luck, either way. ^_^

For reference.

The chances of hatching a shiny Pokemon are exactly the same as the chances of encountering one in the wild. I don't know if breeding shinies will increase this chance, though.

@ doodoo: you think too much about Sonic. :P

Breeding shinies does not increase the chance of the egg being shiny. The only way to improve those odds are to use a pokemon in Platinum that is from a foreign country game
