Is it possible to get a shiny Pokemon out of an egg? I'm currently trying to breed my two Alakazams, one of which is shiny. So far no luck. |

Well then...taken from Bulbapedia, this is all I could find... "Due to the probability of the IVs lining up in any of these manners to produce a shiny Pokémon, the chance of obtaining one in Generation II is approximately 1/8192. However, if one breeds a shiny Pokémon properly, the offspring may have as high as a 1/64 chance of being shiny, depending on the species of Pokémon." ...implying that, at least in Gen. II, breeding shinies is possible. And I don't see why they'd take that kind of thing out. Good luck, either way. ![]() For reference. Edited by Troy, Feb 20 2009, 10:25 AM.

The chances of hatching a shiny Pokemon are exactly the same as the chances of encountering one in the wild. I don't know if breeding shinies will increase this chance, though. @ doodoo: you think too much about Sonic.

Breeding shinies does not increase the chance of the egg being shiny. The only way to improve those odds are to use a pokemon in Platinum that is from a foreign country game |
