Wow, I can't believe it's already been four years since I created this place. I remember first setting it up, coming up with the ranks, most of which are still used to this day, getting the boards ready, and trying to advertise. For the first few months, TNZ was just a hang out place for me, Wailmer, his friend ZeldaFan55, B.A.M., and a couple others most of you wouldn't know. Then, I worked to promote TNZ, using the IF Directory and other tactics. So then, TNZ grew. Staple members such as Yoshi, Meta, flamesinferno, and Lavos joined. Oh, what a wonderful (but spammy) time we had. I look back at it and go "oh, god" but back then, as a little 13-year-old, it was loads of fun. Then in December, there came the hack. A couple months before, a member who had been banned for coming here for the sole purpose of spamming came back and cracked the account of a former admin. He then messed around with the boards. I closed the forum and resolved to repair the minor damage done later. Two days later, on Dec 5, 2005, he returned, this time actually hacking into the forum, and deleting every last post. Then, TNZ was in ruins. We tried to build it back up again, but with little luck. We even made a new forum to start over, but it failed and we all drifted back here. Then, we thought of an idea. Why not revive the forum with a set of games, plus a voting for the best games of 2005? So in Feb 06, the first TNZ awards were held. It helped us out, and we were able to recover. That summer, B.A.M. paid $30 and had all the posts and boards restored. We also created the inter-forum camp known as Camp Wii, which later became known Smash Camp. And with all these steps taken, we built up to what we are today. TNZ's story is a story of perserverence. As long as you have faith and work hard, anything can be achieved, no matter how bleak the outcome looks. When we were hacked, I thought TNZ was gone for sure. But look at us now. This virtue taught to me by my forum experiences has since helped shape my life and everything I do. Whether you've stuck with us since the beginning and witnessed the hack, or are relatively new and still learning what we're all about, I thank you for being a part of TNZ. I still remember the pic of the kid Llama. He still haunts my dreams. Anyway, in celebration of the Awards, I would like to announce the grand opening of TNZ's own Wiki! I had made this a while ago, and was going to work on it a little before I released it, but then I realized...its a Wiki. The whole point is that anyone can edit it. So, I'm releasing it now. Every member of TNZ is allowed to make a page for themself, plus anything else they can think of. As long as it relates to TNZ, you can make it! Pretty much just telling you all how I'd love to play you at Mario Kart (I lied) My second post, however, should have let you all know what you were in for when I signed up..
