Most people will complain that more boards means more room for activity and discussion, but I think that with less boards, the forum doesn't look so overwhelmingly large. And with the recent lack of posts we've been having, it looks quite empty, too. With less boards, forums feel a little more comfortable, if you catch my drift. I'd really like to see this forum become more active. I'm not exactly sure why, though. Maybe someone else here knows. |

Huh. That's pretty interesting... Most of the gaming areas should be merged, save the reviews/news section and Wi-Fi. We haven't used the Game Ideas board at all (I have been thinking about that place, though). And fan-fics are currently dead here, as well as RPs (except the occasionally active Wii Cafe). These are really interesting thoughts, Dill. Nice to see there are still thinkers around here...but hell, who am I to criticize others? |

Hm, I like your idea. I suppose I'll write up a small list of suggested merges. Announcements Suggestions/Support (the name that it has now is rather misleading, at least to me) Introduction Board Nintendo Wii Nintendo DS (judging how active these boards are) Other Games Wi-Fi Discussion Reviews The Lounge (It's a more appealing name than 'off-topic') *Thread games Debate The Arts (this would be the graphics board, as well as fanfics and whatnot) RP Board I was never a big fan of spam boards, because they typically encourage spam more than they reduce it. I think the same goes for member boards, but I'm not going to be too harsh on that, as it seems to be a fairly active thing. Live chat could also be a re-direct board on the bottom (or a sub-board to the lounge), but chats never worked out, in my experiences. |

At least in our current state, we don't really need the Spam board, seeing as how there are so few people that (most) spam is tolerable and controllable. I could really care less about off-topic being changed to the lounge. Doesn't seem like too big of a deal... Live chat never worked out here. We could never organize meetings, so no one ever used it... Keep 'em comin'; I'll see what I can possibly do to fix things up around here. |

Hmm, those are some pretty good ideas. I'll wait to see what the other admins think though, before switching stuff on them all of a sudden. |

Well, off the top of my head, I can think of one more: the introduction board. I, myself, was never a big fan of introduction boards, as the best forums I've come from simple had Hi/Bye threads stickied in the general board. The reason why I suggest it is because threads are a little friendlier than boards. With a board, the new member feels pressured to make a large post, or at least a satisfying thread. When it's just one post, there's a little more freedom to it. A member can tell their story of how they found the forum, or just drop in to say hi. |

I read all your suggestions, and some of them are pretty good. But I basically like this place the way it is. |

The amount of boards on this place has always been an issue. From when I signed up (two years ago), people figured there were too many boards. I say we merge some of the lesser used boards and try to sort them into general parent categories. |

But what will you do when you're feeling like crap, or all your friends are going out, or it's pouring rain, or you're running poorly? To keep striving over the course of years, you need to smooth out the natural highs and lows of your desire, so that you have a constant and unrelenting force that drives you off the sofa and out to run. Every day. Twice." | |

I'll just take a break from TNZ...for 6 months...

Personally, I am against taking out the introduction board. Members aren't usually pressured to write intros; in fact, they have a lot of fun with it. Also, making their own individual thread will make them feel more welcome. I mean, if there's just one Hi/Bye topic, it'll make them feel like they're just one of many people posting on a thread. On the other hand, if they make their own topic, they'll get a lot of individual responses, an they'll feel more welcome. Less people are likely to welcome new members if there's just one thread. I have no clue how the other admins stand on the issue, but I think it should stay. Otherwise, I agree with a lot of your ideas. I'm going to look over the forum and come up with a new layout, then I'll post it here and we can edit it until everyone's happy. |

But you see, we don't have a lot of members, anyway. So new members who posted in a topic would most likely get enough responses. But if you're more used to using the board, that's fine, I should at least, then, suggest that it be made a sub-board of the general board. |
