Hiya, this thread is to help newcomers learn how the forum works to get the best out of the forum. I suggest reading the Terms of Service first though. Well hope this clears stuff up! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Posting Posting in various threads will allow you to post your opinion on a topic or even start your own. It's simple to do if you just follow these basic steps listed below. 1a: Posting in others threads: To post in someone elses thread, all you need to do is go to the thread, click add reply, and then just type your message and hit submit! 1b: Posting your own threads: To post your own thread, go to the appropriate forum (or category) and click new topic. Then type your message and click submit and your good to go! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2. BB Code. BB Code is what allowed me to make the previous bold. It adds all the little extras to your posts to get something across. Some various ones you should know are listed below.
These codes make what's in it italic, bold, and underlined in that order. They would look like blah blah blah blah blah blah These can also be accessed from the buttons above the body of your post when you post. This is just a but quicker and nifty. There are alot of other BB code tricks as well. Like changing color, etc. Check them out if you ever have the time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3. Using BB Code to post images Have a picture you want to post? First, find the direct URL (The www. link to the picture; i.e: http://linux-bangalore.org/images/smugtux.jpg). This forum uses BB code as you already know. Anyways, place the direct URL after [ img ] and before [ /img ] (Without the spaces in between img or /img and the brackets). Example below:
It will come out to look like this: ![]() It's a penguin! Anywawys, got forums to make images work, post away! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All I have now. Expect more eventually. If you have any questions on this or BB Code post in the Tech Support section. Sincerly, Shady |
| "After a great workout, you'll happily go hit the weight room, or add extra miles, or eat spinach and broccoli. But what will you do when you're feeling like crap, or all your friends are going out, or it's pouring rain, or you're running poorly? To keep striving over the course of years, you need to smooth out the natural highs and lows of your desire, so that you have a constant and unrelenting force that drives you off the sofa and out to run. Every day. Twice." | |
